About Us

About Us

BioSignal is a neurodiagnostic company providing functional brain assessment anywhere, at any time, for everyone.

BioSignal improves brain function assessment in traditional medical settings such as neurology departments, epilepsy and sleep centers, ICUs, and neurology practices and clinics. We introduce brain function assessment in novel medical settings such as Emergency Departments, NICU, private physician’s practices, hospice, home care, and home sleep monitoring. We empower people to use brain function assessment for military medicine, youth recreation, and professional sports medicine, consumer fitness, and personal safety.

Our microEEG® solution combines an FDA approved, miniature, wireless clinical platform technology capable of recording electroencephalograms (EEG) that is fast, portable, and easy-to-use with an interpretive platform allowing for rapid, remote interpretation.

This brain monitoring system is designed for use in emergency rooms, clinics, ICUs, epilepsy and sleep centers, physicians’ offices, ambulances, schools, sports fields and anywhere else that benefits from rapid EEG.

Current EEG machines are too large and too difficult to use in many environments and require scarce, specialized EEG technicians for a lengthy and complex set up. BioSignal’s system is simple, can be set up in five minutes by a novice tech, and provides accurate results which can then be interpreted by our board certified neurologists in less than an hour.

Our Story

At least 12 million emergency department patients annually fail to get the rapid functional brain monitoring of an EEG required to guide therapy and save lives.  NYU neuroscientist Dr. André Fenton has created the microEEG® system in response.  microEEG, for which BSG has received FDA 510(k) clearance in June 2012, has received over $5.5M in competitive NIH grant funding.

BioSignal Group, Corp (BSG) was founded in 2002 to carry out Dr. Fenton’s mission to provide access to life changing brain assessment when and where a patient needs it – at anytime, anywhere. To support this mission, BSG has assembled a team of staff and collaborators with experience and know-how in healthcare, neuroscience, emergency medicine, neurology, software development, FDA regulations, and telemedicine.

BSG Board Chairmain, Dr. André Fenton, is a Professor at the Center for Neural Science at New York University, and an internationally recognized neuroscientist. His work was recognized by Science as one of the top 10 breakthroughs of 2006 in all of science, the only breakthrough in Neuroscience.
